Beach 2015

This past May we went to the beach with Nick's parents and his sister and her family.
I just got the picture above and below printed and framed in our playroom, and I just love them!

My nephew is one month older than Millie, and my niece is just a year younger than them. All the children enjoyed playing (and snacking) with each other.
I love candid beach pictures! The lighting is always good, and it is so fun to catch the kids enjoying themselves in the sun, sand and water!

One essential item we packed on our beach trip was a big shovel. We used it to dig holes and mountains. Nick built this little swimming hole for the kids to play in. They loved it, and it allowed them to stay close to us when we got tired of yelling at them to "run back this way!"
James on the side of our mountain.
There were 6 adults and 4 children. I was able to read a little bit when I was not on kid duty. I started re-reading Harry Potter. I'm on book 6 now, and once again I can't put it down!
We stayed in a place right on the beach. It was so easy to walk back and forth to our place. Nick and I were even able to go out to Red Bar one night. It was wonderful!

We were hoping to make it back during the summer, but we were not able to. Can't wait to go back! I love the beach!

Catching Up

Hello!!

I took a long blogging break without any good reason.

This spring was busier than anticipated, and blogging was the last thing I wanted to do. While I enjoy documenting our lives for my own sake and some friends and family, I'm not good at the writing part. So sometimes blogging takes me longer and takes more energy than I want to give it. The main purpose of my blog is to be my own virtual scrapbook. I am going to try and post more regularly again!

In an effort to catch up on the past few months, this post has a lot of pictures in it!

For now we will go all the way back to April.

This was Easter.
It wasn't until a few weeks later that I realized James's shirt was on backwards. I thought he looked more babyish without the buttons in the front.

For my sister's and brother-in-law's birthdays, we gave them the gift of their three children to spend a Friday night at our house.
The night we chose happened to be my nephew's 6th birthday, and we had a little cousin party!
We even had some Dollar Tree party favors and decorations!

He loves maps, so we played 'pin the state on the map.'

Moving on to the month of May.......

We had the annual end of the year preschool program.
Millie was in a sweet 3 year old class.

This was one of Millie's teachers, and even though it doesn't look like it here, she adored her (and the other co-teacher)! They were wonderful teachers to her last year. She talked about how much she loved them, and hugged them all day long.
These girls have become good friends at church and school.
It was hard to get a decent picture of them though.

My Millie has grown up so much this past year. It is hard to believe this will be her last year of preschool. I'm not sure I'm ready for her to move on.

We also had our first ballet recital.

It was the cutest thing ever!

I hope to be back soon with pictures from out beach trip in May and more of the summer!
